FORMER BAMA CHIEF AWARDED AN MBE
Sue Harrison, formerly Sue Rogers, who was director of the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours for her services to safety in the manufacture and use of aerosols.
Mrs Harrison MBE (pictured) was director of BAMA for 18 years and stepped down in March 2012. She said: “I feel honoured to receive this recognition for the work which I was proud to lead, as the director of the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) for 18 years.In its 50 years, the association has always furthered safety and standards. This is an important UK manufacturing industry and I am delighted to have played a part in helping its continuing success. After retiring, re-marrying and acting as a games-maker in the London Paralympics in 2012, to receive this accolade of an MBE was a wonderful bonus in what was for me an extraordinary year.”
Last year Harrison was awarded the coveted industry award, the Rotheim Medal, named after the inventor of the aerosol, Erik Rotheim. This medal has been awarded to only a small number of industry professionals for outstanding service to the aerosol sector. Dr John Morris replaced Harrison as chief executive in spring 2012.
