Empac turns to social media

Empac, European Metal Packaging has recently launched an innovative social media programme, Cans for Life. Through stories, the numerous everyday uses of metal packaging are highlighted. While only online for a few weeks, Cans for Life has already reached a number of followers.

The initiative offers a content hub to showcase metal packaging’s success stories. Cans for Life covers environmental topics and provides creative, hands on advice on how to upcycle your empty packaging after its initial use. Besides a regular content mix, several campaigns with online influencers, chefs, artists and other can fans are planned throughout the year. Shortly, a new campaign will be launched that will involve users across Europe who will be asked to share their favourite recipes or art projects.

Lena Nover, communications and European business officer at Empac, says, “It is important to demonstrate the many uses of metal packaging; we want consumers to better understand cans and appreciate their many benefits. Our social media approach with Cans for Life is the perfect way to communicate the diversity of uses for cans and to capture these through interesting stories.”
